It's makes guests from search engines believe that your site is more active than it really is. Which can further motivate them to sign up if they're used to more popular forums.

Of course, this is an option in the IPB SEO control panel and you can disable this feature at any time.

If i understand, it isn't really simulation. They are the spiders/search engine bots, isn't it?
If yes, this script is really SUPER.
In 2 second after a new topic, they are on the forum tongue.gif for indexed the pages...?

Our product can add an arbitrary number of fake guests, fake users, and fake topics/posts.

We only have the fake guests count enabled here - set to "3" (which is why you see 3 guests online always, no matter what).

The busier your site looks, the more important it seems, right? wink.gif

If someone visits your site and sees 1 guest online (them) and 0 users, it's boring. They will want to leave. If they visit the same site and 5 members and 20 guests are online, well, there will seem to be more to do. This ties in with SEO because after you drive the traffic to your site, the next important step is to keep it there.

So, with the software you can optionally add the fake guests and members (and make it seem like there are more posts and topics). You don't have to enable the feature. smile.gif
