YouTube is offering no refuge for users who uploaded copies of Fox Television’s 24 and Simpsons according to Internet.com’s ASPnews.

A 20th Century Fox spokesperson says that Google and Live Digital have complied “with subpoenas issued by the U.S. District Court in Northern California and disclosed to Fox the identities of two individuals who illegally uploaded entire episodes of “24″ prior to its broadcast and DVD release.”

Fox says that YouTube has handed over the personal identification info of its user, ECOTtotal, who uploaded 12 episodes of The Simpsons. Fox plans to use the personal information to “pursue all available legal remedies against those who infringed our copyrights.”

Google and Fox Interactive, the parent company of MySpace.com, are major advertising and technology partners, which probably led to a prompt response by Google’s YouTube property in this case.

YouTube has down the crapper. It used to be awesome, before the MPAA jumped in and cried over copyright and such.
