okay I know that if you install CommunitySEO, all links will be changed to like this:



It is using html at the end instead of the usual, as an example:



I like the usual default url setting better than the new one after installing CommunitySEO.

But on a website that I saw, I think they have CommunitySEO installed too but all their URLs and links are still the default php ones instead of the html ones.

So I am wondering, there is an option to choose from after installing CommunitySEO?

Yes, you can tell CSEO which urls to rewrite.

Additionally, you can use "virtual folders" for your forums if you wish. So you could have

http://mysite.com/Forum-name-f1/

http://mysite.com/Forum-name-f1/topic-title-t1.html

Hi,

I have another question.

1) The site I mentioned earlier in the first post. Current the website I am talking about is using the default php instead of html (fURL) but I found one url link in google that showed html in the end of the url. But that could be a long time ago search and google never updated that?

So my question is, can I make my site to use default php for humans to read but for spider crawler bots, use html so they can read it easier?

2) I can use fURL first and then revert it back to normal php at a later day without any problems? Also can you explain a bit what is the differences between defual php and html, what is the benefits of fURL?

No, this is not possible, nor would you really want to do this.



Technically, yes you can revert back to php urls at any time of course by either turning the mod_rewrite settings in our software off, or uninstalling our software. However, in doing so, Google will have updated all of the URLs to .html urls (or many/most of them at least) while our software was installed. You would need to leave the .htaccess on your server, otherwise the urls will never get rewritten properly and all indexed pages in Google would give you errors. Additionally, you could end up with a duplicate content penalty, because the urls will get rewritten and the right pages will display, however the .php urls will then/still/also work, meaning more than one url for one page.

Ideally, once you start using mod_rewrite you should stick with it. While you can uninstall the mod or disable it from the ACP, it's not a good idea to do so with regards to spiders.

If I disable it later, just need to wait until search engines to update itself again right? To get these issues fixed that you stated?

Also, without mod_rewrite (fURL), it is still okay to use this module with default .php? Will I still get good boosts on the search engines?

I also have ntd download script and unreal portal, would there be any problems with them? Because these mods were hving some conflicts with MinveraSEO.

If you disable it later, yes, eventually Google should update the urls. You would just need to be sure to leave the current .htaccess in place so that the old urls will load the correct page instead of giving a 404 error.

You will get some boosts without using mod_rewrite, yes.

We have some user-provided instructions to get unreal portal working fine with our software. If ntd download script is the one that uses autocom=downloads, you would need to be sure to turn off rewriting of downloads in the ACP if you use the rewrite feature of the software.

Oh, so you saying that we can have re-write for certain stuff and not have to rewrite everything. Meaning, we can just re-write topics/posts only as an example?
