I have just installed the IPB SEO Module and will be conducting research to see how much of an impact it can make on my little site. Feel free to check out my status!

Background

My website was made about 3-4 years ago, and it has stayed a very small site ever since. It has been hit by DIGG and a few other big websites from time to time. The last one of these was about 4 months ago when my site made the front page of the popular gaming site Kotaku.com. You will see when I was hit by that influx of traffic and I have been steadly decreasing in traffic since then. I now average about 8000 Unique visitors per month. I am hoping to increase my traffic up to 16,000-24,000 Unique visitors per month by installing the Community SEO software.

Google Site: 1 - 10 of about 13,800
Yahoo Site: 1 - 100 of about 21,117
MSN Site: 1-10 of 104 results
Alexa Traffic Rank = 402,504

I will keep you posted! smile.gif

Its been a few days since the installation, My number of pages on Google and Yahoo seem to be fluctuating.....I have seen them go down by 400 and then back up 400.....as of right now these are the numbers....

Google 1 - 10 of about 14,500
Yahoo 1 - 100 of about 27,146
MSN 1-10 of 252
Alexa 415,467

Unique visitors to my site have stayed the same, I have noticed that the Friendly URLs have taken over the first 3 pages of my Google Results, they have yet to show up in MSN or Yahoo.

Google is also not yet reporting indexing my new sitemaps....

Total URLs: 3335
Indexed URLs: 0

I would also like to point out that before I purchased the Community SEO software I had [INVM22] Sitemaps Generator installed on my site, so I had to delete all of those sitemaps off of Google and that may have caused some of the fluctuations.

Will keep you updated!

Assuming you had not friendly url modification before, you may be shocked when your pages indexed by google number drops drastically...but it's normal, so don't panic.

Because CSEO redirects so many of the duplicate copies of URLs appropriately to a single page, you'll see some of the duplicates getting removed soon (since they're 301 redirected) and it will *seem* like pages indexed in Google is going down. Just don't panic lol. It levels off and will start climbing, this time with unique pages instead of duplicate copies of one another.

No the previous modification did not create friendly urls, it only gererated sitemaps for my forum. Unfortunately your Community SEO software and that modifications overlap in some of the settings, I am having a bear of a time trying to remove his modification as to not have it conflict.

What I am curious about is how your task runs? If I say to create 100 entries into my sitemaps, how does it allocate between profiles, topics and download section? Does it evenly split the task or does it run one until complete? I only ask because I am seeing my new topics in the sitemaps but not my new entries in the Download manager.....So I am wondering if it is now concentrating on getting my Profiles sitemap complete?

The ibf_sitemap_track table holds records for each sitemap, including the last time it was built and the last id it left off at.

On each run of the task, it pulls only one record from this table (the one with the oldest "last built" time) and then adds however many records you have told it to add (in the sitemap configuration settings). So it would normally run, for example, similar to the following cycle with each point being a separate instance of the task executing

1) Add 100 records to topics sitemap file (at the same time, the forums file will be rebuilt as it is small, and the index file is rebuilt on every run as well)
2) Add 100 records to profiles sitemap file
3) Rebuild sections sitemap file
4) Check blog - if installed, add 100 entries to blog sitemap file
5) Check gallery - if installed, add 100 entries to gallery sitemap file
6) Check downlaods - if installed, add 100 entries to downloads sitemap file
7) Start over at (1) and repeat

You can increase the number of items added on each run in the settings and you can manually run the task in the task manager under the tools and settings tab to speed up the build process.
